Written to describe what this website actually does, rather than to cover every possibility. If we add anything, this page changes first.
The short version
We do not run advertising trackers on this site. We do not sell or rent anything you give us. The only personal information we hold is what you typed into a form or told us on the phone, and we use it to answer you and to build and deliver a blind.
What we collect
Things you give us
- Contact forms — name, email, phone and whatever you wrote in the message.
- Dealer enquiries — business name, contact details, location and notes about your shop.
- Orders — name, delivery address, ZIP code, phone and email, so a blind can be built and delivered.
Things the site asks your browser for
- ZIP code — typed into the dealer search or the delivery form. It is used to work out distance and delivery eligibility. It is not stored on our servers by the act of typing it.
- Approximate location — only if you press "Use my location" and your browser then asks your permission. It is used once, in your browser, to sort dealers by distance. It is not sent to us and it is not stored.
Other companies involved
Loading this site means your browser talks to a few other services. Each one sees your IP address, because that is how the internet works.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces.
- OpenStreetMap and CARTO — serve the map tiles on the dealer map.
- Nominatim (OpenStreetMap) — turns a ZIP code into a map location when you search. Your ZIP is sent to that service to answer the query.
- unpkg — serves the mapping library.
- Stripe — handles payment if you buy a blind. Card details go to Stripe, never to us. We see that a payment succeeded and what was ordered.
- Our web host — keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
- A review service — where reviews are shown, they are served by the review platform that collected them.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Stripe sets cookies necessary for a payment to work, on Stripe's own checkout page.
How long we keep things
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as they are useful, which for a blind company is a long time — people call back years later about a blind they bought. Order records are kept as long as tax and warranty obligations require. Ask us to delete something and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it.
Who we share it with
- A dealer, if you asked us to put you in touch with one, or if you are closer to them than to us.
- A freight carrier, to deliver a blind — name, address and phone.
- Nobody else. We do not sell lists and we do not trade contact details.
Your choices
Email us or call (814) 795-9011 and ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. There is no form for this — just ask.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we add analytics, a newsletter or anything else that watches how the site is used, this page gets updated before that goes live.
